I’ll be vacationing during the coming Black Friday sales event, and I was wondering if it is safe to go online at free wifi places (e.g. hotels, Starbucks and McDonald’s) to purchase things. Thanks.

NO,
it is not safe.
any accounts you sign in to could be stolen in under 5 seconds.
also a computer connected to an unsecure connection
can also be hacked in to in under 5 seconds.
Never ever use wi fi for anything.
except for general browsing.

I want to start a simple website offering my expertise and to give out information, they will be a pay pay system in place where customers can choose from the drop down list to purchase the other services from my website. Now I want it to be secure with the padlock symbol at the bottom and for it to look expert. So how much would this website cost and is it a fixed payment and if so where and how do I go about it?

I use GoDaddy.com for everything. They are the largest Domain Registrar & their Website Tonight & Quick Shopping Cart features are some of the simplest to use & the most inexpensive to maintain.
If you don’t want to set it up yourself, they have some great support staff.

PS. For the “padlock” you’ll need to purchase an SSL Certificate thru them as well.
*Edit: GoDaddy is cheap for hosting also, I pay <$ 5/month for 10GB/Storage & 300GB/Transfers. Add what I mentioned above & they can't be beat.
