Basically, i’ve been looking to create my own blog site so that I can put out my work. Once I increase traffic, I want to be able to put up advertising. Knowing the chances of actually making money through blogging, I am not deterred, so please help me out.

You can advertise your blog using several services. WordPress.com just lets you into their network by signing up for a blog there. You should also expand your chances of getting more members by using social networks and services such as Twitter and Reddit. If you need any help, I can help you start up a blog for a certain fee. I integrate such services into WordPress so you can simply blog and your Facebook and Twitter can be automatically updated at the same time. My email is amorphous123@gmail.com if you’re interested.

I write for my school’s paper, and we’ve been trying to increase traffic flow to our website. We don’t post all that regularly, so my editor decided that a few people should write weekly or biweekly blogs to post on the site. She wants me to write one, but I have no idea what the topic should be. I can’t really think of anything that I would be able to come up with new ideas about every single week. Any advice? It’s a cool idea, I just have no clue what I would say to the entire school every week.

I’ve looked up different ways to make your own website, but how do you go about it and do you really need to pay for web space and such or is there a site that allows you to create your own website for free (which would be the valued choice). Could anyone possibly help me?

You can run a web server on your own computer – that’s free. Your provider probably gives you some free web space (in the last 10 years or so, no one seems to be aware of this.)

To actually create the site, you just write it – you don’t need anything but knowledge – and you can’t do it without knowledge, unless you use a site that’s already created. Look at http://www.opensourcecms.com/ play with the demos and, if you find one you like, download it. (You could upload it to your site at your provider’s and set it up pretty easily.)

Myspace bulitins, faceboox fun wall things, beebo will have something like this. Social networking sites are you’re best bet. Join up to forums that alow links to other sites and put the link in your profile, that kinda thing works if its a low scale school related blog
