Well, I can program on ASP.NET, so I need to know what the best and free open source packages for me to build my E-commerce website are.

You can use Joomla and use the VirtueMart plugin. It’s actually written in php but it’s easy to setup. You just need to know php if you want to create a custom templates. Otherwise, no programming required.
Another good open source for e-commerce is osCommerce. It is also written in php.
Niche Blueprint is also a great e-commerce solutions. It also came with the guides on market research, branding, drop shipping, and complete promotion plan and there’s a lot of templates selection but it’s not free.
There’s a lot of best free e-commerce software written in php and not in ASP.NET but I think it doesn’t matter anyway.

With easy design tools that mean I can create a nice looking website that won’t cost me much for a domain, I prefer online builders instead of designers because I am in full control.
I have used Yola to create some free websites before and I quite like it, but does anybody have any experience with using their paid packages?

I would recommend hiring a web designer ask yourself is control better than results? Show me a successful website that was build from a website creation tool and I’ll agree with you. I’ve said this thousands of times but web development is a profession people go to college for and have years of experience in so they can build and develop websites that produce results. Yahoo answers, Facebook almost any site you can think of was not build with a website builder.

Google analytics is the best of the free analytics packages that are provided by an external company. Piwiki is a little better, but you have to run an installation of it yourself.
If you really want to ensure you get the most from your traffic you need a company like Omniture to track your traffic and test various small changes to your site. Check out “Site Catalyst” and “Test and Target”, but they are going to cost you money.

Well, indexed in Google, Yahoo, Msn, is the first step. Then get some people to link to the new domains.
If you have deep pockets you can buy some advertising on other sites.

So if you want to have a better or higher placement in search engine on Google, you should look for sites with higher exposure and a better page rank than yours so you can be affiliated with them and gain popularity and move up in the ranking system of search engines.
