What to write about in a web blog?

I write for my school’s paper, and we’ve been trying to increase traffic flow to our website. We don’t post all that regularly, so my editor decided that a few people should write weekly or biweekly blogs to post on the site. She wants me to write one, but I have no idea what the topic should be. I can’t really think of anything that I would be able to come up with new ideas about every single week. Any advice? It’s a cool idea, I just have no clue what I would say to the entire school every week.

I’ve found a couple parts for my computer build from HEC, but I’ve never heard of them. The info on their website is kind of shady, and the grammar isn’t the best I’ve seen. I found a 585-watt power supply from them on Newegg for $ 25, which raises a serious red flag. So I need to know are they reliable? Can I trust buying from them?

HEC is a large manufacturer of power supplies, PC cases, rackmount chassis, etc. http://www.hec-group.com.tw/info/

They are not well known because they supply more to OEMs and system builders. With a small retail market, they spend little for advertising and promotion.

The cheap unit they are selling at Newegg is a “no frills” OEM type. There is no SLI or Crossfire support, efficiency is less than 80%, no 8-pin 12V EPS and no PFC; thus, it usually gets unfavorable review. But I would expect it to satisfactorily perform for what it is designed for.

I have very satisfactory experience with HEC’s retail power supplies. I have the 550W model w/ active PFC and two units of the 480W model with passive PFC.

I’ve heard about paying for advertising on google, but I can’t afford that… what can I do?

Try putting your blog on digg.com blogger etc join Forms that your website is about make sure when you join these Forms you know what your talking about put your Link is the Signature tab don’t just spam the forum’s that will lightly get you removed. Come to my website i have have backlinks tab there.

Also arrr email some company that your website has to do with and ask for a backlink and you;ll link to there website.

Is there a website out there that compiles lists of websites frequented by specific demographics? For examples, websites that are mostly visited by teenagers, websites visited mostly by people in their 20s, websites visited mostly by parents ? I need info about these categories.

Such sites, if they exist, will be unreliable. Age specific visits depend on user reporting. So one had best try to approach this indirectly, but even indirect approhes have their flaws. Do more young folk use Safari as opposed to irefox or IE? THere are varying opinions.

netcraft.com compiles stats about sites most frequently visited, sites with best uptimes, “What’s that site running?”, etc. Baically, things that can be derived by automated observation.

But am I 16 or 64? Who can say? And why should I report my age accurately?

I was searching my story on Google, and a link to my story on a forum was displayed on a website I’ve never heard of. I don’t know if this means that the information was automatically collected as in some kind of live feed, but it doesn’t make sense to me, and I certainly didn’t receive any kind of notification.

Couldn’t “WASALive !” wait 48 hours before posting my work without permission? That sounds like some sketchy African startup. **** that.
